What Professionals Say About Our Students
The PT faculty is committed to preparing students to be exceptional entry level physical therapists. Clinicians routinely praise the professional excellence of our students and recognize their critical thinking and problem solving skills. These are a few comments about students from Clinical Instructors last year:
- “If I could hire her today, I would, without any question. This says a whole lot in regards to her professionalism, competency, and skills as a PT.” Outpatient Orthopedic Therapist
- “She has done exceptionally well during this clinical. She is performing at entry level and has gained the attention of our supervisors who are recruiting her for a PT position at our hospital.” Outpatient Orthopedic Therapist
- “She has received many compliments from patients as well as other professionals and she has been great to work with and will most definitely make a great therapist.” Acute Care Therapist
- “He will make a great asset to any team. He is a wonderful individual with a wide knowledge base and will make a great PT.” Acute Care Setting
- “She is very dedicated, motivated, flexible and dependable. We will miss her.” Outpatient Orthopedic Therapist
- “I have been impressed with the physical therapy program at Ohio State University. First, OSU physical therapy students give more than lip-service to the importance of evidence-based practice, they actually promote and use it! Second, they also understand the importance of professionalism. In fact, OSU physical therapy students are one of only two students groups in Ohio to have 100% membership in the American Physical Therapy Association this year.” Nancy Garland, Executive Director/CEO, Ohio Physical Therapy Association

Sarah Matics
Matics.1@osu.edu Second Year Student Hometown: Charleston, WV
Undergraduate degree: BS in Athletic Training, OSU
I wanted to stay at Ohio State because I felt very comfortable here and wanted a chance to build on my education with the faculty. It's nice to be part of a small group, but still have all the extra experiences that a big university offers. |

Jennifer Wade Wade.235@osu.edu Second Year Student Hometown: Westerville, OH
Undergraduate degree: BS in Health Sciences, Bradley University, Peoria, IL I picked OSU because I moved out of state for my bachelor's degree and really missed Columbus. The opportunities and expansive research facilities put OSU on a cutting edge of medicine. I chose OSU for its location, current resources and class size. I know I made the right choice! |

Andrew Lyons lyons.218@osu.edu Class of 2008 Hometown: Washington Court House, OH Undergraduate Degree: BA in Business Administration, Wilmington College of Ohio I picked OSU because of its location in Columbus, OH. Having been a resident of Columbus for the past 5 years, I didn't want to leave. The city of Columbus is big enough to provide many educational, cultural, and entertainment opportunities, but small enough to feel like home. Having graduated from a very small college, I also wanted to pursue the opportunities and experiences a large university like OSU can provide.
