Dr. Evans presenting abstract at WFUMB'09

Dr. Kevin Evans' abstract titled: Utilizing image segmentation of ultrasound images to detect nodal disease with both manual and automatic techniques, has been selected from over 700 submitted abstracts to be presented at the World Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology. This 12th international congress will be held in Australia. This research presentation is part of the team research begin conducted by Evans, Steffen Sammet, MD, PhD, Okan Irfanoglu, and Michael V. Knopp, MD, PhD. The research takes lymph nodes captured from normal volunteers and extracts them from the digital ultrasound image to create cubic models. This technique is compared with both manual and automatic computer technology.
